Having completed the initial transit phase of our trip where the daily routes were direct and reasonably straight forward we wanted to be able to programme the sat navs with more scenic routes. However all three units decided that interim waypoints set to layout a route required an actual stopover so that they had time to calculate the route for the following segment of the trip. Now while that might have been true in some cases, being left without any directions at a junction in a town centre wasn’t funny.
So after much head scratching and experimentation methods for setting up routes were found plus sat navs trained to take us to waypoints before seamlessly carrying on with directions for the following segment of the journey.
Calm restored.
(If you suffer the same problem and have Garmin software use shaping points!)
