Unforseen consequences of olive groves

22nd May 2017

After two days on a lovely small campsite in the shade of Olive trees we are now realising the downsides of being in an olive grove. The vans have acquired a green tinge from a coating of pollen and the scuttles are full of small flower heads.
When the wind blows it is like being in a blizzard. I think our work will be cut out for us when we leave, cleaning the windscreens and clearing out the scuttles.
However despite all this we will be staying for another two nights. The nearby village of Santo Antonio das Areias provides shops and a bakery. When the temperature allows there are plenty of walks in the surrounding countryside and when it does not the site has a pool for those who want to brave it’s rather icy waters.
