Further invasionary forces repelled

27th May 2017

Arrived in Tomar to find a sad and scruffy looking municipal campsite. On parking to check in we were approached by a man who told us that it was free to stay there. Apparently there was no electricity and no hot water but the toilet block would be open between 08:00 and 20:00 each day. It seemed very strange as the grass and gardens were clearly not being maintained. Anyway we selected three pitches amongst the tall grass and settled ourselves in.
After a discussion over a cup of tea we decided that if judged as an aire rather than a campsite the site would be fine for our planned stay to explore the castle and find out about the Knights Templar.
Sadly the following morning our plans were thrown into disarray by a report from Roger of ants being found inside his van. A change of pitch halted the invasion but with the general feeling of unease over the state of the site now further eroded by the possibility of ant invasions the decision was made to move on.
